Our role in the environment

Write your post h OUR ROLE IN THE ENVIRONMENT

We all have a duty to protect our environment.

Have you ever poured bleach down the drainto kill the odors or loose a clogged pipe? BLEACH IS  TOXIC

There's a much better way to disinfect your drains and prevent them from clogging  up.  Use baking soda and white vinegar
small box of baking soda in the refrigerator works to absorb odors.  Put half a few table spoons in your garbage disposal sometime and add about a 1/2 cup of vinegar.
Do you have an odor from the shower or sink drain or a re-occuring odor in the waste basket...Do you want a secret to clean
Your flooring, your vents, your stink pipe and drain lines? I will share a hundred secrets with you to make your house a perfect home.  email me

Cleaning the lint trap is good, but try this.

There is no easy way to deep clean your dryer lint trap.  Most of us dry our clothes and we quickly take the lint off the lint filter every time.

There is however one important thing we forget.  About 5- 10% of all the lint from your clothes goes right by the lint screen. It's damp, so when it finally dry's it get stuck to whatever it touches. If you have a 4" plastic venting  tube (PVC) the lint builds up even faster than it does on the tin or aluminum vents. If you really want to keep your clothes dryer  and vent from getting gummed up with lint, here's what I would do.

After you carefully  scoop the lint inside of the lint trap with your hand and thow it away use a long Bottle Brush with a very stiff wire and possibly a vacuum.  This is really hard to do on most dryers because they are hard to clean without using a special camera.

How to stop dust bunnies!

.Two weeks ago I went to clean air ducts in Mansfield Ohio. When I got there the owner said he was nearly cleaning dust bunnies from the floor every day. After carefully cleaning the house ducts and dryer vent I noticed that the new furnace has some return air leaks.

Then I noticed the dryer vent wasn't hooked up correctly. The small particles from the dryer got sucked through the furnace and we ending up in this mans house.  Dust bunnies where everywhere!  This is because high efficiency furnaces ran the blower motor more often and at a higher volume of air back to the home.

I repaired the air return plenum with clear silicone and DUCK tape for furnaces.

I also fixed the dryer to lint trap to exit without releasing fragments of lint into the basement which ultimately get stuck someone in the home. They are very hard to see until they accumalate.

Advantage of installing a central air package system

Posted on 17 July, 2012 at 9:55 Comments comments (198)
The h-vac guy generally supports the idea of a central air conditioning rather than the use of multiple window units. It's a cost factor and it makes sense to cool the entire house rather than just sections of your home.

Installing a new split system may actually save you money.  If your using window units to cool your home, you can save money by installing modern 13 Seer split system.  Wouldn't you say that it cost $25 p/month to run one 18,000 BTU  window air conditioner, plus you lose the window and you have to install it every spring!

ALLERGIC TO YOUR HOUSE?

Posted on 1 June, 2012 at 15:08 Comments comments (113)
Do you suffer from Allergies?
Do you start sneezing around dust?

If you answered yes, when was the last time your had your air ducts cleaned including the evaporator coil,  fan blower and vent covers? How close do you live to pollen?

Allergens are in the air ducts, on the vent covers and they are blown through the air handler which is aggravating the symptoms of allergies.

David Evans here...I suffered from allergies so bad that I had to wear respirator when I mowed the lawn. I lived in Arizona, land of heat! We had two seasons...hot and hotter, but all jokes aside.  Heat and low humidity mean that the air was light and pollution traveled quickly. Pollen travels just as fast.  When people fall in love with certain plants that give off lots of pollen, they don't think about what will happen when we all find it in our air ducts.

Because allergy symptons slow us down and make us feel miserable...really they do....I want to share with you how I am getting over the allergy symptoms and in time will be allergy free.

My wife took me to good friend who reads the eyes...actually they use a chart that tells them what the nerves are dealing with in your body.  The eye shows the map of your entire body, so a trained person can tell you if your sick just by looking at the colored part of your eyeball with a special magnifying glass of course. Iridology is the trade.

After taking some herbs for a month, prescribed to me  through a method known as muscle testing, I was feeling about 10 years younger! It's pretty old school where I went, but it worked.  Modern medicine uses these techniques with the aid of a computer, but muscle testing is still used by chiropractors.

The number one problem I had was dirt in the bowels, blocking the flow of nutrients to my body, so I ate more and felt tired anyway! So, it's not just in your head.

Dirt in your air ducts stops the flow of good air because microscopic junk is in there too, keeping you feeling tired and when your body has had enough, you just sneeze and feel miserable.  It's time to get cleaning folks!

The most important things you want me to change about your indoor air quality

I am constantly trying to improve my services.  One way I do this is by asking my customers exactly what they expect.  Everyone is different. What means the most to you? odor removal or just getting rid of the dust! Let me know and I will try to solve the problem when I'm at your home.
After I clean all the air ducts in a home and provide the antimicrobial fogging and citrus scent I will get an instant reaction from everyone about how good the house smells.  The real test is when I call back in 2 or 3 weeks and ask how the house feels.

That's when we both know how important cleaning the air ducts really was.

Dead animals leave a bad odor-The Hvac guy solution!

I have some good news to share.  I recently found a product that eliminates odors left behind from dead animals that get into a homes crawl space, duct work, chimney, plumbing, etc.

I have a camera to find the critters 1st, so we can get them out of there.

Take a picture of your Air ducts return

If you own a digital camera, take a minute and stick into the register and take a picture.  If you see white fuzz everywhere, lint or hair, your overdue for air duct cleaning, but I can help.  It's almost time to turn on the furnace. Have your furnace inspected and cleaned twice a year.  In the fall and in the spring before you turn on the Air conditioning.

I have seen a lot of dirty air ducts.  I will tell you how to keep your air ducts cleaner once you get them cleaned out.  There are some things I can share that will prevent the dust from returning.

When your outside enjoying the "Fresh Air"

Hello once again.  Today's topic comes from experience that I have on the job, working in neighborhoods just like yours and possibly you can relate to this situation.  If your neighbor moved away, possibly due to a foreclosure and your now have to look over at the yard that is barely mowed and the house has shingles missing! You would probably like to look elsewhere but when you do there are other repairs that are needed.... and sometimes you can even smell trouble....am I right?

There can be mold and mildew growing on walls around your house, on the deck and under the deck.  If you have animals that occasionally make a mess on your patio, it may be time to replace it, wash the deck with a powerwasher and re-stain.

Air filtration in smaller homes

Posted on 3 May, 2011 at 22:59 Comments comments (467)
If your house is  a cottage or a smaller dwelling, you may notice that your home gets dust balls and lint collecting very quickly on the ceiling, fans and registers.  Your air filter will get dirty faster.

When the air handler doesn't have to move the air as far, the air travels at a higher velocity through the house, forcing the dirt to collect much faster in the cracks and crevices.

I see houses with as little as six registers and one return ... this makes your system very efficient, but also very good for making some extra work for you in the maintenance department.
